With a state-of-the-art plastic injection moulding facility, we are able to process a wide range of general and specialist engineering polymers, composites and elastomers. It features top-of-the-range Arburg and Engel machines able to produce both simple and complex insert moulded products, with a range of capacities from 50t to 1300t.
Our dedicated and highly flexible in-house injection moulding service is optimised for both small and medium batch production, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions. As part of the total package service we offer, we can also provide expert advice regarding tooling and processing criteria.
Brick Guard Project for the Delta Services Group
Delta Services Group were looking to ASG to come up with an innovative, highly cost-effective new design for their new brick guards – the flexible plastic barriers used by the construction industry on scaffolding. In addition to ensuring the guards met stringent industry safety standards, a key consideration was the flow of material through the injection moulding tool, as too long a flow path would result in an incomplete product. To ensure they got this right, the ASG design team used mould-flow simulation software. Once the design was approved ASG used one of their specialist mould making sub-contractors to turn the 3D model into a tool capable of producing millions of brick guards.
