Lamp Guards
ASG has been producing lamp guards since the 1980s, when the guards formed part of a series of products designed for the off-road market. At the time, lamp guards provided essential protection for serious off-roaders, but soon after became a ‘must have’ accessory for all types of 4x4 vehicles. As demand grew, ASG went on to supply a number of OEMs who were eager to make the most of this trend.
As lamp guards became more of a styling accessory in the late 80s, as opposed to a purely off-road product, ASG developed and manufactured the very first composite injection-moulded lamp guard. This was made from an advanced nylon polymer, reinforced with glass fibre. Although exceptionally tough, ASG were able to form this new lamp guard to fit the curved surface of headlights, which added to the styling of a vehicle.
The lamp guards manufactured by ASG today are available in a range of different materials, from the glass-filled, nylon-moulded type to metal versions created in either stainless, galvanised or black powder-coated steel. Through Ansini, clear polycarbonate vacuum-formed lamp covers are also available.
